The See Change Conference was officially christened its first year when Nigel Holmes walked on water. In years past, luminaries from across the visual spectrum have inspired us, including Ian Adelman, Jon Forss, Doug Menuez, Karin Fong, Jeff Johnson, Margo Chase, Matthew Atkatz, Charles Melcher, Philip Brunelle, Paul Nelson, Lisa Strausfeld, Gary Koepke, Rodney Smith, Janet Froelich, Doug Powell, Sharon Werner, and Michael Hart have inspired us.

A day of inspiration and remarkable work from across the visual spectrum, cross-pollinating our abilities and ideas. We’ll see you at See Change 2012.

Confirmed Speakers:

George Lois
(
keynote, Tuesday, May 15, 2012)

George Lois is a renowned pioneer in advertising. Known for breathing new life into brands, he was behind the rebirth of MTV with its “I Want My MTV” campaign, helped make Lean Cuisine a national name and saved USA Today with his “singing” TV campaign. Lois is the author of 10 books, including “Damn Good Advice (For People With Talent!): How To Unleash Your Creative Potential by America’s Master Communicator, George Lois,” which is to be released March 26, 2012 by Phaidon Press.

Joe Duffy

A native of Minneapolis, Duffy is a graduate of both the University of Minnesota and the Minnesota School of Art where he studied fine art and painting. In his first job he made exploded-view technical drawings of engines and generators for a manufacturing company. Then, in 1975, Duffy established his own illustration and design studio, catering primarily to Minneapolis advertising agencies. From 1980 until 1984, with four other partners, he ran an advertising agency.

Duffy’s work includes brand and corporate identity and design development for leading global companies such as BMW, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Starbucks and Sony. His understanding of how design affects consumer attitudes has led to many big ideas executed in advertising as well as design. He has guided the design component of significant integrated programs for EDS, The Islands of the Bahamas, Qualcomm, Whirlpool, Jim Beam Brands, Nuveen Investments, International Trucks, and Nikon.

Tim Mantoani

Photographer Tim Mantoani opened his own San Diego studio in 1995. His credits include Sports Illustrated, Newsweek and ESPN The Magazine, as well as ad campaigns for Coca-Cola, EA Sports and Coors Brewing

 Mark Wheat

Mark Wheat is heard weekdays 6-10 p.m. on Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current and a DJ with the station since it launched in 2005. He tries to emulate his hero, the late, great BBC DJ John Peel, introducing new music to the audience by mixing it with songs they know and love. Wheat will "warm-up" the audience at the opening of See Change.
